Sylhet Medical Assistant Training School is established with the approval of
Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Government of Bangladesh in the
year 2008. The College is affiliated with the State Medical Faculty &
Recognized by Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council Now 17 th batches of
students have already admitted in DMF course in this MATS. Sylhet Medical
Assistant Training School has hostel accommodation, decorated Laboratory,
skilled teaching staffs & employee. We all know there is acute crisis in the
DMF dactors. It is simply impossible to provide medicare service without
strong DMF Doctors. To meet this demand the social worker Mr. Bimolendu
Paul has taken initiative to start MATS in order to enrich Medical sector by
providing DMF Doctors of high standard to reach the common goal of
effective medicare
Introduction
With increasing public expectations about the health care services the
quality of care itself is under scrutiny all over the world. Therefore a positive
change is needed in the role of medical assistant. To produce medical
assistant with required knowledge, skill and attitude to provide promotive,
preventive and first line curative care to the community level.
MATS means “medical assistant training school.” MATS is an institution for
medical assistant who are provide first line health care services to the
community level of Bangladesh. Any MATS provides 4 years academic
medical assistant training course (MATC) under the State Medical Faculty of
Bangladesh Each student after successful completion of 4th year final faculty
examination will go under 6 month compulsory internship. After successful
completion of 6 month internship he/she will get permanent registration
and become a medical assistant.
